United Physicians received its original NCQA certifications for Credentialing and Recredentialing on December 21, 2000 and for Utilization Management on June 11, 2001. United Physicians is among only four physician organizations nationwide to earn certification in multiple categories by the National Committee for Quality Assurance. NCQA is an independent, non-profit organization that certifies physician organizations and accredits managed care organization and preferred provider organizations. NCQA surveys are rigorous evaluations conducted by a team of physicians and managed care experts. A national oversight committee of physicians analyze the team findings and determines certification based on the performance. United Physicians is currently certified for Credentialing and Recredentialing for the period of October 2010 through October 2012 and Utilization Management for the period of September 2011 through September 2013. |
